3. Jeff works incredibly hard and never complains!
4. Jeff conquered The Legend of Zelda on Wii in a mere 56 hours!
5. Jeff always puts his wife and daughter before himself!
6. Jeff got accepted to the MPA program at BYU!
7. Jeff is receiving a Distinguished Service Award for the BYU LAW faculty!
8. Jeff loves to serve!
9. Jeff watches sappy chick flicks and pretends to love them!
10. Jeff is awesome because he has incredible character and loves those around him!

Week 4: The Weigh In

Hello all you loyal followers of the Aird Family 30 day shred! We appreciate your support! As you can see from the poll, Jeff and I tied 50/50 for votes, which pretty much reflects the results as of this week. We both lost THREE pounds this week! We are pretty excited about it and let's be honest we are feeling pretty hot these days!

Jeff's current weight loss is 12.5 pounds with 2.5 pounds to go to meet his goal.
Sara's current weight loss is 8 pounds with 2 pounds to go to meet her goal.

We have one week left in our 5 week wave and then we will set new goals! ALso, we are still exercising on Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred, mind you! When we decide to hit Level 3 who knows what will happen! We might start losing 10 pounds a week! :)

The Sisters of Apartment 21

Last week, my old roomies and I and got together for dinner and a chat. It was a very monumental occasion in that all six of us were able to attend! Let's take a step back in time for a minute...I had just got sent home from my mission and let's just say that I was not the well put together Sara you know and love today. I hastily made an inspired decision to move up to Logan to finish my degree at Utah State. Feeling somewhat battered and vulnerable, I fell into the hands of five amazing girls who have literally changed my life. I read this line in Elder Maxwell's book "All These Things Shall Give Thee Experience" and thought it was fitting, "All of us should strive to have friendships that are deep and solid - so solid, for instance, that if they were interrupted, the unfinished conversation could be resumed months later almost mid-sentence, just as if we had never been apart." Our singles ward bishop commented that we were meant to be roommates that we could help each other through the struggles we had that year, but it still rings true today. I was amazed to find how easily I could relate to these wonderful women whom I hadn't seen for months. So this shout out goes to Katey Teece, Sherri Griggs, Anna Bernards, Heidi Paget, and Vickie Smith! You guys rock and I love ya! And remember these two things:

"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are surprised. But presently, He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace." C.S. Lewis

"Our self esteem is stretched, however, only as we are stretched, and true humility includes believing in and exploring our own possibilities." Elder Maxwell

The Biggest Loser: Midway Report

Well we have been at this 30 day shred thing for 3 weeks now and we are both very happy with our results. We were nervous, because last week neither of us lost ANY weight! However, we persevered and pushed through and we are glad we did! Just this week, Jeff lost 6.5 pounds...ISN'T THAT AMAZING!! I lost 2 pounds which isn't too shabby either.

Now let's recap:
Jeff's goal is to lose 15 pounds - he currently has lost in three weeks 9.5 pounds.
Sara's goal is to lose 10 pounds - I currently have lost in three weeks 5 pounds.

We feel great which is what matters most! Two more weeks and we will report again!

Sydney's Walking Regimen

So we are determined to get Sydney walking! I know we shouldn't rush it and we'll probably regret rushing it, but we are excited and think she will hit this milestone soon. Grandpa Aird bought her a walk and ride for Christmas and she does a lot of walking practice with that (see the video)! We also signed up for a class at the Little Gym, which is a gymnastics place. Her class focuses on walking skills and grasping skills. At our first class, we did a lot of "walking"...I held her torso while she walked around doing the activities. She did a flip over one of the bars (with help from the instructor), but she should be able to hang from the bar by the time the class is over. They play lots of music, have huge bouncy balls, and blow bubbles all of which she loves! It will be a fun class for us and hopefully by the time we are done she will be a seasoned walker!
