Thankscation 2009

This year we did something a little different for Thanksgiving. We took a family vacation to Park City. We stayed at this great condo, which we got a great deal on. We made our own Thanksgiving Dinner, watched lots of movies, hit the Black Friday sales at the outlets, went to the Olympic Park and the Park City Museum, rode the Park City trolley, and had an overall amazing time! We loved it!

Grandpa Aird Gets Married

So about three weeks ago, Jeff's dad got married. All the siblings flew in which was a special treat since it doesn't happen often. What is really sad about the whole thing? I didn't get a single picture of the bride and groom, but here a dozen or so pictures that were my favorites.

Halloween

This year we were involved in our ward's Trunk or Treat! We ate soup and bread in the cultural hall, then went out to the parking lot for some Trick or Treating. Syd had a really good time and caught on to the candy thing pretty quickly! I think she hit a couple of trunks twice! We tried to go easy with the costume this year, some thing that rode easily in a car seat! We thought she was a cute little witch!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow...

So yesterday after dinner, Syd insisted on going outside. We opened the door to show her that is was raining and very cold outside. On seeing the weather, she promptly went and retrieved her shoes, mommy's shoes, daddy's shoes, and her jacket. We ending up jumping in puddles, getting wet, and seeing an amazing rainbow! There is one really great thing about kids...you get to appreciate the little things in life! For a few minutes yesterday evening, our family enjoyed a rain storm and a rainbow. Guess it's like they say...There is no place like home!

State Parks #2 and #3: Utah Lake and Cascade Springs

So a few weeks ago, we went up Provo Canyon and took a very scenic drive to Cascade Springs. Although the trip was kind of long for an almost two year old, it was beautiful when we got there. It is an area filled with all these standing pools, then they have constructed walkways through the pools. We had a pretty good time and enjoyed being together as a family. We give Cascade Springs five stars!
Our next State park was Utah Lake, which you can read about in the next post. Our overall feeling of Utah Lake - not really a beachy kind of lake and somewhat dirty water, but hey when your 20 months and you love water you don't really notice!
